Inlaw ANPR app

Who we are

Inlaw Optical Systems Ltd, trading as Inlaw Systems, provides the Inlaw ANPR app to authorised users at the organisations we serve. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. You can reach us at [email protected].

This notice is about people who use the app. Information captured by our equipment at customer sites is covered by our separate privacy notice, displayed at those sites and available from the same address.

What we hold about you

Contact and account details provided when your organisation arranges access for you, such as your name and email address.

Sign-in credentials, held in a form that cannot be read back.

Information about the devices and sessions used to access the service, including whether notifications are enabled.

Technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings and IP address.

Usage information about how and when the service is used, including sign-in activity, which we keep for security purposes and to maintain the records expected of a data controller. Your preferences within the app.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos or an advertising identifier. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics in the app.

Why we hold it

To provide the service your organisation has contracted with us. The legal basis is performance of that contract and our legitimate interest in running the service.

For security: to protect accounts, keep the service reliable and look into misuse, and to maintain the records expected of a data controller. The legal basis is our legitimate interests and compliance with data protection law.

To send you the notifications you have asked for, under the same contract. You can turn them off in the app at any time.

Who else sees it

Service providers who host our systems, deliver notifications to your device and protect our infrastructure, under data-processing agreements and only to the extent needed for those purposes.

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising. Where a provider handles data outside the UK, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or a UK adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your organisation gives you access. Session and technical information is kept for a limited period after use. Usage information is kept for up to twelve months. Links created from the app expire after a short period.

Security

Connections are encrypted. Data is stored on encrypted systems in the United Kingdom. Access is limited to named people and is logged.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted where appropriate, object to processing that rests on our legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict it. Write to [email protected]. To close your account, ask your organisation's administrator or write to us. If you are unhappy with how we respond you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.

Children

The app is for staff of the organisations we serve. It is not for anyone under 18.

Changes

We change this page when our processing changes.
